3 School Fundraising Ideas That Visually Promote Your Sale

Three visual promotional ideas that deliver sales.

Younger elementary school students can become interested in something once they've heard about it, but if you want to get them excited, show it to them. After all, younger students tend to react more to visual stimulation and believe in something even more once they see it in action.

With that in mind, since you want your students to be as enthusiastic as possible about your school fundraising ideas, you'll want to promote your elementary school sale visually. What follows are three proven fundraising ideas that can help give you maximum student excitement and, most importantly, the outcome of a much-improved sale:

1. School Fundraiser Incentives Should be on Display

Showing off any additional prizes you incorporate, like top seller prizes, grand prizes, and daily prizes throughout your sale, is highly recommended. Place them on a display table at the front during your kickoff assembly. To increase suspense, have these prizes covered with a sheet or blanket as the students enter your kickoff assembly. Naturally, everyone walking by will be curious and want to know what's hidden. Be sure not to reveal these prizes until the very end. This will leave a lasting impression on your students as they leave the kickoff area.

Once the kickoff ends, you'll want to move your prizes to a prominent yet secure area. One idea is to use your school's display case. This is a highly-trafficked area where everyone can see them as often as possible. If you don't have a display case, place the prizes on a cart and periodically wheel them into the cafeteria during lunch.

2. Reminder Drawings Encourage More Selling

You may not think it's practical, or even possible, to visualize your sales reminders, especially if you don't make your morning announcements on TV. There are effective ways to make your sales reminders come to life for your students. Don't just remind your students to sell; make them come to life by incorporating prize drawings.

Using fundraising prize coupons to increase sales, you can periodically draw 5-10 names from your drawing box. The winners get to the office to receive prizes or special privileges for the day. This becomes excellent advertising for your fundraiser because these students will show what they've won to their friends. Some schools go further and have their drawings during their morning assembly. This way, everyone sees first-hand what's happening. And don't think the prizes that you can use have to cost you anything.

3. Use Your Fundraiser Promotional Video

If your school fundraising company has provided a promotional video that shows what your students can win, this will add even more excitement. For instance, schools that use our super party incentive will show their students what they can experience once they've sold a certain number of items. You'll want to show this video at your kickoff and periodically throughout your sale.

The more effectively you visually promote your school fundraiser, the more money you can make.
