How do chocolate bar fundraisers work?
Your group profits when participants sell $3 Katydids Chocolate Bars to their friends and family.
How do we pay?
Since the product is ordered upfront, you have the following payment options:
- Purchase order: If you're a public school, you can order without paying up front. A purchase order is a legally binding document between your group and us. Payment is due within 15 days of receipt of the product. This gives you time to collect enough money to pay your bill. You then keep the rest as profit.
- Credit card: We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.
- Direct Deposit: You must provide your bank routing and account numbers. We will send you a form via a secure encrypted email to complete, sign, and return. Contact us

How soon can we start?
Chocolate bar orders ship within 3-5 business days of receipt. We have two warehouse locations: Totowa, NJ, and Glennville, GA. Ship time varies based on destination.
How long is the fundraiser?
We recommend giving your sellers one week to sell their product allocation and turn in the money.
TIP: Use a tracking sheet to ensure timely and accurate money turn-in.
How much should I order?
The size of your order depends on the number of participants in your group and how many chocolate bars you want them to sell. Since $3 Katydids Chocolate Bar orders ship four inner carriers to the case, consider issuing one carrier to each seller.
To determine how many cases to order, divide the number of participants in your group by 4. Round up to the following case number if needed.

Do you take back unsold products?
We do not accept returns. We aim to maintain the same high level of product freshness for every customer. The USDA also has stringent guidelines that we must adhere to.
TIP: Consider issuing unsold chocolate bars to participants who volunteer to sell them in exchange for a portion of the profit. This way, you will maximize your profits as much as possible.
Can participants earn prizes?

We divide our chocolate bars into four individual Katydids chocolate candies, lined up single-file on a white protective clipboard inside the wrapper.
How long do chocolate bars stay fresh?
You should store Katydids Chocolate Bars in a cool, dry place, preferably below 72°F, but not in the refrigerator. Solid milk chocolate will last up to 12 months in this environment.
Are chocolate bars kosher?
Our chocolate bars are kosher.
Are chocolate bars peanut-free?
Katydids Chocolate Bars are not made with peanuts, but they are produced in a facility that also produces other tree nuts and peanuts. Only products manufactured in a 100% peanut-free facility can carry a "peanut-free" label.
Are chocolate bars nut-free?
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, 7.6% of children have food allergies, 2.2% are allergic to peanuts, and 1.2% to peanuts and nuts. The percentage of children with peanut allergies has tripled in the last ten years alone. Only about 20 percent of children with peanut allergy outgrow it over time, so it is usually lifelong.
Peanuts are part of a different plant family called legumes. They grow underground and differ from tree nuts, such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, and pecans, which grow on trees. However, about 40% of children with tree nut allergies are allergic to peanuts.
Because Katydids Chocolate Bars contain pecans, which are nuts, they are not nut-free.
Why peanut-free chocolate bars?
Unfortunately, peanut and nut allergies are common. Severe allergic reactions and potentially life-threatening risks are all too common. In response, school districts nationwide are starting to enforce peanut-free policies.
Those who are allergic should avoid foods containing peanut and peanut byproducts. This includes anything with a warning that it "may contain" or "may contain traces of" peanut. Only products manufactured in a peanut-free facility can carry a peanut-free label.

How much money can we make?
Estimating your profit is easy. Consider the following example.
A sponsor with 27 participants wants everyone to sell one inner carrier each (60 chocolate bars):
- 27 participants x 1 carrier / participant = 27 carriers
- 27 carriers x 30 chocolate bars / carrier = 810 chocolate bars
- 810 chocolate bars x $3.00 / chocolate bar = $2,430 gross sales
- $2,430 x 40% profit = $972 profit
