Questions about Selling Scratch Cards?

You may be interested in selling scratch cards but may not be entirely sure if this is a good fit for your group, or you might still have some unanswered questions before deciding on your fundraiser.

Scratch cards are a fun and easy way to gather donations for your cause. Donors will have the opportunity to scratch off a dot and then donate the revealed amount. In exchange, the person donating receives a savings coupon sheet as a thank you for their support. What follows are answers to commonly asked questions about our scratch cards.

Common Questions

What is the difference between the 30 and 60-dot scratch cards?
The 30-dot card has fewer dots to scratch off, but each dot has a higher value of $1-5. The 60-dot card has more dots; however, each dot has a lower value of $0-2.50. The total amount raised is the same with either card type; the difference is in how many dots you want your supporters to scratch off per card and the potential donation amount.

What's on the card?

  • Your group name and picture are placed on the cover.
  • Each card folds into a 4" x 6" card with scratch dots inside.

Do the cards have an expiration date?
No, your cards do not have an expiration date.

How do we design the artwork for our card?
Choose your image and upload it to the scratch card design form.

Will we be able to see the card before it goes to print?
Yes, you will receive a proof. This will allow you to check for the proper spelling of your group name and how it will line up with your picture.

What is the purpose of the savings coupon sheets?
The savings coupons are a way of thanking your supporters for their donations.

How many savings coupons are provided per card?
Each card comes with one savings coupon. In other words, each 30-dot scratch card has 30 coupon sheets, and each 60-dot scratch card has 60.

Earnings & Profit

How much does each card make?
Each card can potentially make a $100 gross profit once all the dots have been scratched off. Your net profit would be your gross profit minus your cost/card. For example, if you buy ten cards, your gross profit would be $100 - $20 = $80 per card x 10 cards = $800.

How much can we make?
Your earnings depend on the size of your group. Each participant is usually given one scratch card.

Group Size 10 15 20 25 50 75 100 250 500 1,000
$80 Profit/Card $800 $1,200 $1,600
$85 Profit/Card       $2,125 $4,250 $6,375
$90 Profit/Card             $9,000 $22,500 $45,000 $90,000

(Profit based on all dots being scratched off on each card and corresponding money collected)

How can we receive more profit?
We offer volume discounts based on the number of cards ordered that will increase your profit. For more information, see our pricing & profit table.
