Salsa Fundraising Questions & Answers
- How often can we hold a salsa fundraiser? That’s up to you... Some groups sell salsa once a year, and others have them quarterly. For example, groups take orders at the beginning of the school year or just before the holidays. Another idea is to sell it as a Cinco de Mayo-themed sale towards the end of the school year.
- Are there any upfront costs? No, you only pay for what you sell.
- Do you work with any size or type of organization? Yes, we can work with smaller groups up to large organizations of 1,000 or more.
- What is your minimum order? There are no minimum orders; however, you need to sell a minimum number of items depending on the group size to receive free shipping:
- If you have fewer than 100 students, shipping is free if you order 150 or more jars. A $100 shipping and handling fee for orders less than 150 items are added to your invoice.
- Shipping is free for groups with 100 or more students if you order 250 or more jars. A $250 shipping and handling fee for orders less than 250 items are added to your invoice.
- How long should we sell? We recommend two whole weeks, including two weekends. Then up to 1 extra week is provided for late orders.
- Does your salsa require refrigeration? Not until they are opened. They have a 2-year shelf life unopened. If refrigerated, once opened, salsa stays fresh for 8-12 months.
- What about sales tax? Most states do not charge tax on food unless it is prepared to eat with a knife and fork, like at a restaurant. We will not charge sales tax, so you must check if your state requires you to collect it.
- I have food allergies; how can I determine what is in the salsas? No problem! The order forms list all the flavors with their ingredients. All salsas are lactose-free, nut-free, and contain no artificial colors or flavors.
- Is your salsa considered healthy? All salsa is handcrafted with authentic ingredients. It‘s fat-free, low calorie, low sodium, and contains no junk sugars.
- I’m a vegetarian; do the salsas contain any meat or dairy? They are all vegan.
- How is the salsa delivered? Depending on the order size and your location, the salsa will either ship by UPS or by LTL Carrier.
- Do the orders come bulk-packed or student packed? The salsa arrives bulk packed into the piece, which means they are sorted by flavor. We have found this to be the easiest and least chaotic way to deliver the salsas. The orders are straightforward to pick up once they have arrived. We have a method that will be explained once the delivery is made.
- What happens if something is damaged or missing? We guarantee any damaged or missing products will be replaced or refunded.
